Good day, and welcome to Bus Stop - a small talk message board. Registration is not required and each post remains on the site for only a day, after which, it disappears.

If you find this place empty, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's completely abandoned. Feel free to make a post to start a discussion, perhaps someone will see it and reply!

Bus Stop is intended to be a stress free environment for talking with strangers. Try to keep a relaxed demeanor when posting, please don't say anything that might ruin the other person's day.
I hope we meet again.

Bus Stop uses an extended version of WakabaMark markup code for post formatting.
The basic features are as follows:
  • Surround text with * or _ to make it italic. _Like this_ or *like this*.
  • Surround text with ** or __ to make it bold.
  • Surround text with %% to make a spoiler
  • Make an unordered HTML list by beginning each line with *, or -. You can add line breaks in list entries by breaking the line and indenting the next line with one or more spaces.
  • Make ordered HTML lists by beginning the first line with "1."
  • Make quote sections by beginning each line with ">". Highlighting text and then clicking the post number will quote the selected text.
  • Make code sections by indenting each line by four spaces or one tab. Code sections get shown in a monospaced font, and are not otherwise formatted.
  • Make external links by just typing the URL you want to link to. Post references like >>0 can be created by clicking the post's number and are automatically turned into links. You can link posts from other boards like this >>>/test/#0. The first youtube link in the post gets embedded, unless the post has a file attachment.
If you want to make a large post with complex formatting you can test if everything looks right here.

Please fill in the subject field with a clearly defined topic when appropriate. This not only enables browsing the site like a regular message board by filtering posts with the same subject but also serves another purpose. Subjects have a longer lifespan than posts; this means that even when a subject's thread is empty, it remains in the list for several days since the last post. In the event that this board is empty, it should help a new user or someone who hasn't visited the site for a long time understand what kind of things were being discussed recently.
The board's look can be customized from the options menu, which is accessible by clicking [+] in the bottom right corner of the sidebar. Available options are as follows:
  • [theme]: switches the visual style of the site.
  • [Mona]: enables the Mona font. If your browser has problems with rendering it, turn it off to use a system font.
  • [⟳]: enables auto reloading of the page each 90 seconds.
  • [?]: controls visibility of the info post.
Options are stored in your browser's cookies, be sure to enable them, if you want to save your settings.

Having to remove the Post Office from my bookmarks was a pretty painful endeavor. I don't remember how long ago I learned that it was gone but it must be two years by now. Surely it's been gone even longer...

Sorry for the double post this morning gents. Thought that when the site gave me the popup about not posting URLs it scrubbed the whole post.

Cheers.

Today I had a good fucking sleep, so, I had some weird dreams but it's alright. When I woke up, I saw 2 hands reaching out of my mattress and immediately fading out. Hella epic dude.

well. . . a decent ones could run some proper android apps. they can track how much you walk, how well you sleep and shit. there is definitely a reason, but you might not need them personally

More recent than two years, it was gone, then came back shortly, then was gone again.

if you wanna track your steps or see your notifications quicker without opening your phone, they can be good, can also have alarms set on them. I used to have a fitbit, but ultimately realized I just hate the feel of a watch on my wrist. Not worth the price imo unless you really need those features

I don't see the point in "smart-" objects.

i had a mi band of some prior gen (4?) for a time, for sleep tracking and steps to an extent, and alarms. didn't personally really need apps on the go, hence the pick of that over something more sophisticated.

grew weary of all the reasons of using it over time. not really caring to quantify myself anymore, and can have a more "disruptive" alarm these days living alone and yearned for a calmer wakeup experience than something buzzing on my wrist, so i use a sunrise alarm clock these days, and wear a regular watch for timekeeping.

but if you do care for tracking your steps or sleep, or having some apps on the go, then sure why not

additionally: a friend of mine has a vape that has a few apps on it and also tracks the puffs over days/weeks, and even despite the health ramifications of all that, something about this is really funny to me?

makes me think about how a friend linked me an article yesterday about someone's art project of sorts where they took pictures of every single thing they owned (10000+ items)
and reading that inspired me somehow to go through my sewing box and travel sewing kit both, sized down quite significantly on those. something really satisfying about that too

admitted to myself i really don't care about fully matching thread to fabric and don't need as many needles as i had, so my current base sewing box (9*6.5*2.5cm) is way smaller than the one i had prior (19*11*6cm)
