Good day, and welcome to Bus Stop - a small talk message board. Registration is not required and each post remains on the site for only a day, after which, it disappears.

If you find this place empty, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's completely abandoned. Feel free to make a post to start a discussion, perhaps someone will see it and reply!

Bus Stop is intended to be a stress free environment for talking with strangers. Try to keep a relaxed demeanor when posting, please don't say anything that might ruin the other person's day.
I hope we meet again.

Bus Stop uses an extended version of WakabaMark markup code for post formatting.
The basic features are as follows:
  • Surround text with * or _ to make it italic. _Like this_ or *like this*.
  • Surround text with ** or __ to make it bold.
  • Surround text with %% to make a spoiler
  • Make an unordered HTML list by beginning each line with *, or -. You can add line breaks in list entries by breaking the line and indenting the next line with one or more spaces.
  • Make ordered HTML lists by beginning the first line with "1."
  • Make quote sections by beginning each line with ">". Highlighting text and then clicking the post number will quote the selected text.
  • Make code sections by indenting each line by four spaces or one tab. Code sections get shown in a monospaced font, and are not otherwise formatted.
  • Make external links by just typing the URL you want to link to. Post references like >>0 can be created by clicking the post's number and are automatically turned into links. You can link posts from other boards like this >>>/test/#0. The first youtube link in the post gets embedded, unless the post has a file attachment.
If you want to make a large post with complex formatting you can test if everything looks right here.

Please fill in the subject field with a clearly defined topic when appropriate. This not only enables browsing the site like a regular message board by filtering posts with the same subject but also serves another purpose. Subjects have a longer lifespan than posts; this means that even when a subject's thread is empty, it remains in the list for several days since the last post. In the event that this board is empty, it should help a new user or someone who hasn't visited the site for a long time understand what kind of things were being discussed recently.
The board's look can be customized from the options menu, which is accessible by clicking [+] in the bottom right corner of the sidebar. Available options are as follows:
  • [theme]: switches the visual style of the site.
  • [Mona]: enables the Mona font. If your browser has problems with rendering it, turn it off to use a system font.
  • [⟳]: enables auto reloading of the page each 90 seconds.
  • [?]: controls visibility of the info post.
Options are stored in your browser's cookies, be sure to enable them, if you want to save your settings.

Bus Stop is also available through this URL vip.bus-stop.net
This is the JavaScript-free mirror of the site, so if you like, you can use it to browse the scriptless version of Bus Stop without disabling JavaScript in your browser.
Please note, that you need to solve a captcha to make posts with disabled JavaScript.

User submitted themes are placed on different subdomains as well:

More recent than two years, it was gone, then came back shortly, then was gone again.

if you wanna track your steps or see your notifications quicker without opening your phone, they can be good, can also have alarms set on them. I used to have a fitbit, but ultimately realized I just hate the feel of a watch on my wrist. Not worth the price imo unless you really need those features

I don't see the point in "smart-" objects.

i had a mi band of some prior gen (4?) for a time, for sleep tracking and steps to an extent, and alarms. didn't personally really need apps on the go, hence the pick of that over something more sophisticated.

grew weary of all the reasons of using it over time. not really caring to quantify myself anymore, and can have a more "disruptive" alarm these days living alone and yearned for a calmer wakeup experience than something buzzing on my wrist, so i use a sunrise alarm clock these days, and wear a regular watch for timekeeping.

but if you do care for tracking your steps or sleep, or having some apps on the go, then sure why not

additionally: a friend of mine has a vape that has a few apps on it and also tracks the puffs over days/weeks, and even despite the health ramifications of all that, something about this is really funny to me?

makes me think about how a friend linked me an article yesterday about someone's art project of sorts where they took pictures of every single thing they owned (10000+ items)
and reading that inspired me somehow to go through my sewing box and travel sewing kit both, sized down quite significantly on those. something really satisfying about that too

admitted to myself i really don't care about fully matching thread to fabric and don't need as many needles as i had, so my current base sewing box (9*6.5*2.5cm) is way smaller than the one i had prior (19*11*6cm)

the last week i keep having dreams of the same theme: vacation. not necessarily a relaxing vacation, but moreso the theme of traveling. and recurring themes of arguments and conflict. I wonder if it means anything

It won't actually heal the cold or anything, but if you've got a sore throat/cough nin jiom pei pa koa is goated. I also always crave chicken congee with ginger when I'm sick...

not sure why all my solutions here are Chinese, they just do it best I guess

more generally all I've got is lots of sleep, Dayquil, lots of immune support tea and electrolytes, hot showers/hot baths/hot towel on the face and facial massages for sinus pressure, and gargling salt water. If you think you caught your symptoms early, I'd say rush and start taking medicine/doing every "healing" measure you can think of, that usually helps stave off the later severity for me
:( colds are the worst

+1 on the sleep, +1 on the hydration

one time drifting in and out of impending-illness early sleep before a workday, the first bit of sleep felt like it'd been 3 hours while i'd only actually slept 1 hour. crazy how it can work sometimes (did stave off the fever, i guess successful enough)

Shit no. Get a mechanical watch. Can be serviced and preserved for your whole life and then some.

Don't even have to spend $300 for a good one. Go Seiko.

If you post more details about your dreams I will try to help you analyse them.
Some open questions you could think about:
What characters are you in conflict with in the dream, what do they mean to you?
Does the arguments solve or loop?
What do you see and experience meanwhile this happens?
What age are you in the dream world?
What is the "house" in the dream?(Maybe in your case a train or something rather than a building?)

I recommend writing down dreams, when you have a lot of them you can learn your own mental and unconscious symbols and unwrap the metaphors and projections.
The arc that emerges is valuable.
There is always meaning in dreams. :)

just get a normal casio or similar , the simpler the watch the less you have to think about it , and the less you think about something the better your day to day is.

I've been writing them down the last week, it's always fairly different but some themes stay the same. A frequent dream argument is with my ex best friend, years worth of grudges looping, that's been a day + night issue for ages now, even though i've cut contact with her irl it still continues plaguing my mind. I'll never be able to "win" those arguments.

I dreamt about conflict with my tattoo artist, i made them a woolen hat by mistake when they are vegan, and this caused them to be uncharacteristically awful to me (they are the sweetest person ever irl). i don't think it was resolved in the dream, this is a real life worry so it'll be resolved in the real world soon.

things like my age or what i see are a bit unknown to me, i'm very tunnel visioned both irl and in dreams, i can basically only know/see what's directly in front of me, like the person i'm arguing with and a vague idea of my surroundings.

In one of my Vacation dreams I kept seeing spiders throughout the entire thing, each spider getting progressively bigger.
In these dreams we often travel via airplane, but the thing is.....in almost all of them, i sleep through the entire vacation, I 'woke up' to my dream mom telling me it was time to pack up and leave the resort. She seemed mad at me and made me go re-park the car (I don't drive) but i couldn't find it at all, the resort was like a labrynth, a beautiful white marble palace i could never find my way through.

There's also been police in my dreams lately, the one I had last night involved a shootout with police, and then they forced us all to sit on a staircase while they modified our computer systems (< this one was actually abt this bus stop, all of us together but it was a real place to hang out). Another dream had me hiding a body and biking through an endless fog to escape detection from police.

The conflict ones represent my real worries and grudges I think. I don't know what the spiders or police mean, or why i'm always on vacation, though at the end of vacation i always return to my retail job instead of going home.
